To me these bluebells (Hyacinthoides hispanica) look like an angel in flight. I photographed them at Brooklyn Botanic Garden in early May.
A graphic designer by profession, I've branched out (no pun intended) into photography, specifically nature photography. Photographing flowers is a valuable exercise in color and composition. I find gardens, intersections of nature and the built environment, to be particularly interesting; the way we shape nature to our ends says a lot about our culture and ourselves. Then there's the joy of capturing the ephemeral brilliance of a bloom at its peak. I hope you find as much peace and beauty in these shots as I did in creating them.
